The SUPERIOR ABRASIVES A009404 is a mounted flap wheel designed for precision grinding, blending, and finishing on metal surfaces. Built around an aluminum oxide abrasive at 80 grit, this wheel delivers consistent medium-grade material removal across contoured and flat workpiece surfaces. The 0.375-inch diameter and 0.375-inch face width make it well suited for tight-access areas and die grinder applications. The cotton cloth backing at X weight provides flexibility while maintaining abrasive contact. Rated to 40,000 RPM maximum, it handles high-speed spindle operation without degradation. Fabricators, tool and die machinists, and metal finishing technicians are the primary installers of this type of abrasive tooling.
This mounted flap wheel is intended for use with die grinders and rotary tools that accept a 0.125-inch shank. Typical applications include weld blending, surface conditioning, deburring, and edge finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The shank length of 1.25 inches provides adequate reach into recessed areas, bores, and contoured cavities where larger abrasive wheels cannot access. It is sold individually and is suited for both production and maintenance grinding tasks in shop and field environments.
Designed for use with die grinders and rotary tools equipped with a 0.125-inch collet. Suitable for standard shank-mount abrasive applications in metal fabrication and finishing.
Installation is performed by machinists, fabricators, and metalworking technicians using die grinders or compatible rotary tools. Ensure the tool is fully powered off and unplugged before mounting or removing the wheel. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 40,000 RPM maximum rating of this wheel before operation. Always use appropriate eye protection and guarding per ANSI B11 abrasive wheel safety standards when operating mounted flap wheels.
