The SUMITOMO U101390 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use with SMD-series modular drilling systems. It features a 0.5374-inch (13.65 mm) cutting diameter and is manufactured from solid carbide with a PVD-applied TiAlCr and TiSi dual-layer coating. The MTL-C insert geometry and 140-degree included angle make this tip well-suited for demanding hole-making operations in cast iron and steel workpieces. Coolant-through capability channels cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, supporting chip evacuation and thermal control at higher feed and speed parameters. This tip is installed and replaced by machinists and CNC tool-room technicians as part of a standard indexable drill body system.
