The SUMITOMO 1PHA014 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. It carries the ACP200 manufacturer grade and features a PVD-applied coating for extended tool life and wear resistance. The insert is rectangular in shape, conforming to the LNEX style, with a negative rake angle of -6 degrees and a 0.03 mm corner radius. With a maximum depth of cut of 12.00 mm and a cutting edge effective length of 0.366 inches, it is built for consistent performance on stainless steel and steel workpieces. Installation and tool setup are handled by qualified machinists and CNC tooling technicians.
This insert is suited for milling operations on stainless steel and general steel in both production and job-shop environments. It is compatible with the TSX cutter series and uses the G chip breaker configuration for controlled chip evacuation. The LNEX insert style with an 1306 size code fits corresponding toolholders designed for that designation. Right-hand cutting orientation makes it appropriate for standard spindle direction setups. The P15-P30 material grade range positions it for medium to semi-finishing cuts on steel and stainless steel at moderate to higher cutting speeds.
Designed for use with the TSX cutter series. Insert size code 1306 and LNEX style must match the corresponding toolholder seat specification. Primary workpiece material compatibility includes stainless steel (M) and steel (P) per ISO material classification.
Milling inserts should be installed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician familiar with indexable insert toolholders. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or indexing any insert. Use the correct torque wrench and clamp screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not over-torque or use improvised tools. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for debris or damage before installation to ensure proper contact and runout control.
