The SUMITOMO 19T5BPC is a solid carbide turning insert engineered for precision metal removal in CNC and manual turning applications. It carries ANSI designation CCMT21.51ESU and ISO code CCMT060204N-SU, placing it in the AC5000S series with the Absotech Bronze PVD TiAlSiN coating. The insert features a diamond (80-degree) shape with a neutral cutting hand, a 0.25-inch inscribed circle, a 0.0937-inch thickness, and a 0.0156-inch corner radius. It is installed by a screw-holding method and delivers a positive rake angle of 8 degrees, making it well suited for clean, efficient chip evacuation on demanding workpiece materials.
This insert is designed for turning non-ferrous metals and superalloys, corresponding to workpiece material codes N and S. The ESU chip breaker geometry supports consistent chip control at moderate-to-high cutting speeds in those material families. It is appropriate for external and internal turning operations where tight tolerances and fine surface finishes are required. Machinists working in aerospace, medical, and precision-component shops will find this insert well matched to the AC5000S series intent. The insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
Designed as a replacement-style turning insert conforming to ANSI designation CCMT21.51ESU and ISO designation CCMT060204N-SU; fits screw-clamp toolholders accepting CCMT-style inserts with a 0.110-inch hole diameter. Intended for non-ferrous metal and superalloy workpiece materials (material grade S10).
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamping screw; do not over-torque the screw as this can fracture the carbide body. Inspect the pocket seat and shim for chips or debris before reinstalling to maintain positional accuracy.
