The SUMITOMO 19RJWAW is a TNMG-style turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built from solid carbide with a CVD coating in manufacturer grade AC820P, this triangular insert delivers consistent performance in general-purpose and interrupted turning operations. The insert features a 60-degree included angle, a 0.6496-inch length, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. Its negative rake geometry and neutral hand orientation make it a versatile choice for a wide range of turning applications. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert on toolholders that accept the TNMG form factor.
This insert is rated for use on primary workpiece materials categorized as P (steel) and M (stainless steel and similar alloys), making it applicable across automotive, general manufacturing, and industrial machining environments. The ENG chip breaker geometry is engineered to manage chip flow and reduce built-up edge during medium to finishing turning passes. It conforms to ANSI code TNMG322ENG and ISO code TNMG160308N-UG, allowing direct cross-reference to compatible toolholding systems used in standard production turning setups. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification and inspect the seating surface for proper contact before resuming cuts.
