The SUMITOMO 19RJCEN is a WNMG-style indexable turning insert engineered for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured from solid carbide and finished with a CVD-applied aluminum oxide (Al2O3) coating in the AC820P grade, this insert is built for controlled wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous or interrupted turning passes. The WNMG geometry features an 80-degree trigon (W-shape) with a neutral hand orientation, a 3/64-inch corner radius, and a positive rake angle of 3 degrees. At 0.3425 inches in length with a 1/2-inch inscribed circle and 3/16-inch thickness, it fits standard WNMG 433 toolholders. Installation uses a clamp and pin holding method compatible with that insert family.
This insert is suited for turning operations on steel workpieces, designated under the ISO P cutting material classification. The EME chip breaker geometry is designed for medium-depth finishing to semi-finishing cuts where chip control and surface finish consistency are priorities. It carries the TN series designation and conforms to both ANSI and ISO 13399 standards, making it interchangeable with tooling systems that reference the ISO code WNMG080412N-ME. Machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments will find this insert appropriate for external turning, facing, and profiling on ferrous materials.
Designed for use in WNMG 433-style toolholders that accept clamp and pin holding methods. ISO code WNMG080412N-ME confirms cross-reference compatibility with tooling systems using that designation. Primary workpiece application is steel (ISO P material group).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine in a stopped and locked-out state per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the insert fully in the pocket before engaging the clamp and pin; inspect the pocket seating surface for chips or debris before insertion. Do not exceed the insert geometry limits for depth of cut or feed rate as defined by the toolholder manufacturer. Replace the insert at first signs of chipping, cratering, or surface finish degradation.
