The SUMITOMO 19RJCEM is a WNMG432EME-style indexable turning insert designed for metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a solid carbide substrate with an Al2O3 (aluminum oxide) CVD coating under the AC820P manufacturer grade, delivering strong wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and semi-interrupted cuts. The insert carries a neutral hand orientation, an 80-degree trigon (W-shape) geometry, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch (0.0313-inch) corner radius. Chip breaking is handled by the EME chipbreaker geometry, which promotes controlled chip evacuation in steel and similar workpiece materials. This insert is installed and indexed by qualified machinists and CNC setup technicians.
This insert is suited for turning operations on steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material group P. The WNMG trigon shape with a positive rake angle of 3 degrees reduces cutting forces, making it appropriate for finishing to medium roughing passes on external turning applications. It is compatible with standard WNMG-style toolholders that use clamp-and-pin insert holding methods. The EME chipbreaker series is specifically optimized for steel cutting where chip control and surface finish consistency are priorities. Typical applications include shaft turning, facing, and profiling on production CNC equipment in industrial machining environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for standard WNMG-style turning toolholders using clamp-and-pin insert holding, with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle seating diameter. Intended for use on steel workpieces per ISO material group P designation.
This insert is installed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamping hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the clamp and pin — do not overtighten or use impact tools. Inspect the insert seat and pocket for debris or damage before seating a new insert to ensure accurate positioning and prevent premature edge failure.
