The SUMITOMO 19RJBEP is a VNMG-style solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. Coated with aluminum oxide (Al2O3) via CVD process under the AC820P grade, this insert delivers thermal resistance and wear performance suited to steel turning applications. It features a 35-degree diamond shape, neutral hand orientation, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius. The EUX chip breaker geometry controls chip flow across a range of depths of cut and feed rates. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert as part of routine tooling maintenance and changeover.
This insert is intended for turning operations on steel workpieces (ISO material group P). The neutral rake and VNMG geometry make it suitable for both external and internal turning profiles where 35-degree approach angles are required. It fits standard VNMG-compatible toolholders using clamp and pin holding methods. Typical applications include finishing and semi-finishing passes on carbon steel, alloy steel, and similar ferrous materials. This insert ships in individual package quantities and carries a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement turning insert for VNMG-compatible toolholders. Compatible with holders using clamp and pin clamping methods sized for a 3/8-inch inscribed circle insert. Intended for use on steel workpieces per the secondary workpiece material designation (ISO code P). Confirm toolholder seat geometry and clamping style before installation.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench per the toolholder manufacturer's clamping hardware specifications. Inspect the toolholder seat and clamping pin for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout control.
