The SUMITOMO 19RJAVS is a SNMG-style indexable turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured from solid carbide and coated with aluminum oxide (Al2O3) via a CVD process, this insert carries the AC820P manufacturer grade and delivers consistent performance in steel turning applications. The insert geometry is square at 90 degrees with a neutral hand orientation and a negative rake angle, making it suitable for stable, high-load cuts. The 0.0313-inch corner radius supports controlled chip formation and surface finish quality. Licensed machinists and CNC turning professionals install this insert as part of routine tooling changes.
This insert is intended for use in steel turning operations, matching the secondary workpiece material designation P for steel. The SNMG432EUX chip breaker designation and EUX geometry are optimized for general-purpose steel cutting across a range of depths and feed rates in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. It follows ANSI and ISO 13399 standards and carries the ISO code SNMG120408N-UX, making it compatible with standard SNMG insert pockets on toolholders designed for that seat geometry. The insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in standard SNMG-style toolholders with a square insert pocket matching the SNMG432 seat size. The insert holds via clamp and pin method. ISO code SNMG120408N-UX confirms fit with ISO-designated SNMG pockets of the corresponding size. Confirm toolholder seat geometry and clamping system before ordering.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's recommendation. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and prevent insert rocking.
