The SUMITOMO 19RJ350 is a solid carbide coated turning insert in the TNMG432EUP geometry, manufactured to ANSI code TNMG432EUP and ISO code TNMG220408N-UP. This negative-rake, neutral-hand insert features a 60-degree triangular shape with a 1/2-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius. The AC820P manufacturer grade uses a CVD coating process, making it well-suited for interrupted and continuous turning operations on steel and stainless workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC lathe operators install this insert in compatible toolholders using a clamp-and-pin holding method. The EUP chip breaker geometry is designed to manage chip flow across a range of feed rates and depths of cut.
This insert is intended for precision turning applications on lathes in both production and job-shop environments. Primary workpiece material classifications are M and P, covering stainless steel and carbon or alloy steel. The AC820P grade is appropriate for general-purpose turning where wear resistance and edge stability are priorities. The insert conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards, supporting tooling management systems that rely on standardized data. Material grades C5A, C6, C7, and C8 are applicable, spanning a range of cutting conditions from finishing to medium roughing.
Designed for use in TNMG-style toolholders accepting a 1/2-inch inscribed circle triangular insert with a clamp-and-pin holding method. Compatible with workpiece materials classified under ISO material groups M and P, including stainless steel and carbon or alloy steel.
This insert is installed and replaced by machinists or CNC tooling technicians on manual or CNC turning centers. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Ensure the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert. Use the correct clamp torque specified by the toolholder manufacturer to avoid insert movement or cracking during cutting.
