The SUMITOMO 19RBW2J is a solid carbide turning insert in the CC series, designed for precision metal turning on CNC and manual lathes. It carries the ANSI designation CCMT432 and ISO designation CCMT120408, with grade AC830P applied via CVD coating. The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) insert geometry and ENK chip breaker are optimized for finishing operations, delivering controlled chip evacuation and a consistent surface finish. The positive rake and positive side clearance geometry reduce cutting forces and heat buildup during light to moderate depth-of-cut passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible screw-lock toolholders.
This insert is suited for finishing passes on steel and stainless steel workpieces in both production and job-shop environments. The AC830P grade offers moderate wear resistance balanced with toughness, making it effective across a range of steel alloys (ISO material code P) and stainless steel (ISO material code M). The ENK chip breaker geometry handles the thin chip loads typical of finishing cuts, reducing built-up edge and extending insert life in light-feed, high-speed applications. It is intended for use in CCMT-style screw-lock toolholders.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production insert for CCMT-style screw-lock turning toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards. Verify toolholder pocket specifications against ANSI size code 432 before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified value — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Inspect the toolholder pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
