The SUMITOMO 19RBBPK is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. Carrying ANSI designation DCMT32.51ESU and ISO code DCMT11T304N-SU, this insert features a 55-degree diamond shape with a positive rake angle of 8 degrees and a 7-degree relief angle. The AC830P manufacturer grade with CVD-applied Al2O3 coating provides thermal resistance and wear performance suited for continuous and interrupted turning operations. The ESU chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip flow across a range of cutting conditions. Installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians, this insert mounts via screw-hold clamping in compatible DCMT-style toolholders.
This insert is suited for universal secondary workpiece material applications, covering a broad range of steel and general-purpose turning scenarios. With a neutral hand orientation, it functions in standard right-hand toolholder setups without directional limitation. The 3/8-inch inscribed circle and compact 0.4567-inch insert length make it appropriate for finish and semi-finish turning passes where dimensional accuracy and surface finish consistency are priorities. The 1/64-inch corner radius supports light-to-moderate depth-of-cut applications on a variety of ferrous workpiece materials.
Designed for use in DCMT-style screw-clamp turning toolholders compatible with the DCMT32.51 insert seat size. Secondary workpiece material classification is Universal (Code M, P), indicating suitability for general steel and multi-material turning applications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully into the toolholder pocket before tightening the clamping screw to avoid insert rocking or improper seating. Inspect the insert seat and pocket for chips or debris prior to installation, as contamination can affect insert orientation and cutting accuracy.
