The SUMITOMO 19RBBPE is a CCMT-style solid carbide turning insert with an AC830P manufacturer grade and an Al2O3 coating applied via CVD process. Designed for precision metal turning operations, this insert features an 80-degree diamond shape (insert shape code C) with a positive rake angle of 8 degrees and a 7-degree relief angle. The ESU chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip evacuation during continuous and interrupted cutting passes. With a 1/64-inch corner radius and a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, this insert is suited for finishing and light roughing applications where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are priorities. It is held in place by screw clamping and carries tolerance code M with clearance code C.
This insert is rated for universal secondary workpiece material compatibility (material code M and P), making it applicable across a broad range of ferrous and non-ferrous turning operations. Typical use cases include CNC lathe turning of steel, stainless steel, and similar materials in production and job-shop environments. The AC830P grade with CVD Al2O3 coating provides thermal resistance and wear resistance suitable for moderate-to-high cutting speeds. This insert conforms to ANSI code CCMT32.51ESU and ISO code CCMT09T304N-SU per ANSI and ISO 13399 standards.
Compatible with standard CCMT screw-clamp turning toolholders designed for the CCMT32.51 insert style. Rated for universal secondary workpiece material applications including material code M and P workpieces. Verify toolholder seat dimensions and insert pocket specifications before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex driver to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified procedure without overtightening, which can fracture the insert. Inspect the toolholder pocket for wear, debris, or damage before seating a new insert.
