The SUMITOMO 19RB794 is a DNMG432ENG solid carbide turning insert in grade AC830P, designed for use in CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a negative rake and neutral hand orientation. The CVD coating process delivers a multi-layer wear-resistant surface suited to steel and stainless steel machining applications. At 0.6102 inches in length with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 0.0313-inch corner radius, this insert is dimensioned to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards. It is installed using a clamp or pin holding method and is appropriate for roughing and medium machining operations.
The 19RB794 is intended for turning applications involving steel (ISO material group P) and stainless steel (ISO material group M) workpieces. The ENG chip breaker geometry is optimized for moderate wear-resistance and toughness through high toughness cutting conditions, covering a wide range of depth-of-cut and feed-rate combinations. This insert suits production machining environments where consistent tool life and chip control are required. It is compatible with standard DNMG-style insert pockets used across a broad range of commercial tool holders.
Designed for use in DNMG-style insert pockets on standard CNC turning tool holders. Compatible with tool holder systems accepting ANSI insert code DNMG432 or ISO insert code DNMG150408. Suitable for machining steel (P) and stainless steel (M) workpiece materials as indicated by primary workpiece material codes P and M.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician using the appropriate clamp or pin-lock tool holder for DNMG-style inserts. Ensure the machine spindle is stopped and all axes are at a safe position before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces and torque the clamping screw to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the insert seating and chip breaker orientation before resuming cutting operations.
