The SUMITOMO 19RB362 is a CNMG-style carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured in grade AC830P with a CVD-applied aluminum oxide (Al2O3) coating, this insert delivers thermal resistance and wear performance suited to continuous and interrupted turning applications. The 80-degree diamond insert shape (CNMG) provides a strong cutting edge geometry with a neutral hand orientation. Key dimensions include a 3/4-inch inscribed circle, a 1/4-inch insert thickness, and a 3/64-inch corner radius (0.0469 inches). The insert is held using a clamp and pin method and carries a 10-degree positive rake angle with the EUP chip breaker configuration.
This insert is intended for use by machinists and toolroom professionals in production turning environments. The AC830P grade with Al2O3 CVD coating is suited for universal secondary workpiece material applications, with material codes M and P indicating compatibility with steel and stainless steel workpiece groups. It is designed for use in standard CNMG insert pockets on compatible turning tool holders. The ISO designation for this insert is CNMG190612N-UP, and it conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards. Typical applications include finish to medium turning operations where controlled chip formation is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-application insert for CNMG-style turning tool holders accepting a 3/4-inch inscribed circle insert with clamp and pin retention. ISO designation CNMG190612N-UP.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and the tool holder secured in a vise or tool block. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for debris or wear before seating the new insert. Clamp and pin retention hardware should be tightened in accordance with the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine guarding requirements during insert changes.
