The SUMITOMO 19RB360 is a solid carbide coated turning insert in the CNMG432EUP geometry with manufacturer grade AC830P. It features an 80-degree diamond shape (Insert Shape Code C), a neutral hand orientation, and a CVD coating process applied to a solid carbide substrate. The inscribed circle measures 0.5000 inches (1/2 inch), the corner radius is 0.0313 inches (1/32 inch), and the insert thickness is 0.1875 inches (3/16 inch). This insert is designed for negative rake turning applications and is held in place by clamp and pin methods. Machinists and CNC lathe operators install this insert for general turning operations on a range of workpiece materials.
The 19RB360 carries primary workpiece material designations of M and P, covering stainless steel and steel alloy turning applications. The secondary workpiece material classification is Universal, making this insert suitable across a broad range of turning scenarios in both production and job-shop environments. Material grades C5, C5A, and C6 are applicable. The EUP chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation during medium to finishing turning passes. This insert is identified by ANSI code CNMG432EUP and ISO code CNMG120408N-UP, which aids in cross-referencing with toolholders and insert catalogs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use turning insert for CNMG-style toolholders accepting a 1/2-inch inscribed circle insert with clamp and pin retention. Compatible toolholder designations follow ANSI CNMG432 and ISO CNMG120408 standards.
This insert is installed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque driver for the clamp screw to ensure the insert seats fully against the toolholder pocket without rocking. Inspect the toolholder pocket for chips or wear before seating the new insert.
