The SUMITOMO 19PW360 is a CNMG432EUP style indexable turning insert in grade AC630M, designed for general turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide and features a CVD-applied aluminum oxide (Al2O3) coating that improves wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. It carries an 80-degree diamond shape (ANSI insert shape code C), a neutral hand orientation, and an EUP chip breaker geometry with a positive 10-degree rake angle. The 0.5790-inch inscribed circle and 0.0313-inch corner radius make it suitable for medium-depth turning passes on a range of workpiece materials. Certified to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards, this insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10.
The 19PW360 is suited for turning applications where consistent chip control and edge life are priorities. Its AC630M grade with Al2O3 CVD coating is particularly effective on stainless steel (ISO material group M) and general-purpose ferrous turning. The EUP chip breaker geometry is engineered for positive-rake cutting action, which reduces cutting forces and is well matched to medium finishing and semi-finishing passes. CNC machinists and toolroom operators working with CNMG-compatible toolholders will find this insert a direct fit for their existing setups.
Designed for use in CNMG-style indexable turning toolholders that accept a clamp-and-pin holding method with a 0.2031-inch hole diameter. ISO equivalent designation is CNMG120408N-UP.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using a torx or hex key appropriate to the toolholder manufacturer's clamping screw. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a fresh edge. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's recommended depth of cut or feed rate for this insert geometry.
