The SUMITOMO 19P7360 is a CNMG-style carbide turning insert designed for precision metal removal on steel workpieces. Carrying the AC8025P manufacturer grade and EUP chip breaker geometry, this insert uses a CVD coating process to deliver wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted turning operations. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation and a negative rake angle. With a 1/2-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius, it suits medium to heavy-duty turning applications where edge stability and chip control are critical. Installed by CNC machinists and toolroom operators on indexable turning toolholders.
This insert is intended for primary use on steel materials, designated by ISO workpiece material code P. It fits standard CNMG-style toolholders using clamp and pin holding methods. The ISO designation is CNMG120408N-UP, and it conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards. It is suited to external and internal diameter turning on CNC lathes and manual turning centers where consistent chip breaking and surface finish on steel are required. Typical applications include shaft turning, facing, and profiling operations in production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use in CNMG-style indexable turning toolholders that accept a 1/2-inch inscribed circle insert with clamp and pin holding. ISO code CNMG120408N-UP. Verify toolholder pocket geometry and clamping system before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification to secure the insert without cracking the carbide substrate. Inspect the pocket seat and clamp for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
