Product Description

The SUMITOMO 19HVBGA is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI designation WNMG331ESU and ISO designation WNMG060404N-SU, manufactured in the AC510U grade. The insert features a dual-layer PVD coating of TiAlN and AlCrN under SUMITOMO's Super ZX proprietary coating designation. It carries a trigon (W) shape with an 80-degree included angle, a neutral hand orientation, and a positive rake angle of 13 degrees. The ESU chip breaker geometry is engineered for stable chip control. This insert is installed by CNC machinists and turning specialists working on precision machined components.

The 19HVBGA is suited for turning operations where superalloy workpiece materials are a primary or secondary application. The AC510U grade and PVD Super ZX coating combination is intended for demanding cutting conditions where heat resistance and edge integrity are critical. The ESU chip breaker is optimized for finishing and semi-finishing passes. This insert fits standard WNMG-style toolholders that accept a 3/8-inch inscribed circle insert with a clamp and pin holding method, making it compatible with a wide range of indexable turning setups found in production and job shop environments.

Key Features

  • AC510U solid carbide grade with PVD-applied TiAlN and AlCrN dual-layer coating (Super ZX designation)
  • WNMG trigon shape with 80-degree included angle and neutral hand orientation
  • Positive rake angle of 13 degrees for reduced cutting forces
  • ESU chip breaker geometry for controlled chip formation during finishing and semi-finishing
  • N clearance code and M tolerance code per ANSI and ISO 13399 standards
  • Clamp and pin insert holding method for secure seating in compatible toolholders
  • Rated for secondary superalloy workpiece material applications

Compatibility

Designed for use in WNMG-style indexable turning toolholders that accept a 3/8-inch inscribed circle insert. Conforms to ANSI designation WNMG331ESU and ISO designation WNMG060404N-SU per ANSI and ISO 13399 standards. Holding method is clamp and pin.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling specialists. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten or undertighten the clamp screw. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for debris or wear before seating the new insert.
