The SUMITOMO 196DCNT is a solid carbide turning insert in the SNMG643EEM configuration, ground to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual turning applications. This insert features a 3/4-inch inscribed circle, a 3/64-inch (0.0469 inch) corner radius, and a 1/4-inch thickness. The AC6040M grade uses a PVD coating process, giving the cutting edge enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability. The negative rake geometry and square insert shape make it well suited for moderate to heavy interrupted and continuous cuts. Installation Notes

Carbide turning inserts are replaced by a machinist or tooling technician during scheduled insert indexing or replacement. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before accessing the toolholder.
