The SUMITOMO 14HA924 is a solid carbide milling insert engineered for precision metal removal in demanding milling applications. Manufactured to insert style SNMT and size code 13T6, this square-shaped insert measures 0.5315 inches in length and width, with a thickness of 0.2717 inches. The ACP200 grade features a PVD-applied coating for extended tool life and thermal resistance at the cutting edge. A relief angle of 0 degrees and a G-style chip breaker geometry work together to control chip flow and reduce cutting forces in interrupted and continuous milling passes. Licensed machinists and CNC tool-setup technicians are the primary installers of this insert type.
This insert is designed for milling stainless steel and steel workpiece materials, corresponding to ISO material group codes M and P. It is compatible with the DGC cutter series and delivers a maximum depth of cut of 0.2400 inches (6.10 mm). Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and pocketing operations on CNC machining centers in job shop and production environments where stainless steel and general steel alloys are the primary stock materials. The G chip breaker geometry is particularly well suited for medium to heavy feed rates in these material groups.
Designed for use with the DGC cutter series. Suitable for milling stainless steel and steel workpiece materials (ISO codes M and P). Verify cutter body pocket geometry and insert size code 13T6 acceptance before installation.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician following the cutter body manufacturer torque and clamping guidelines. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamping hardware for wear or contamination before seating a new insert. Always index or replace inserts with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, energy-isolated state per applicable machine safety protocols. Do not force inserts into pockets; improper seating can cause insert fracture or workpiece damage during the cut.
