The SUMITOMO 144W467 is a solid carbide coated milling insert designed for demanding metal removal applications in modern CNC milling operations. Built to the ACM300 manufacturer grade, this insert features a parallelogram (AXMT) shape with an 85-degree included angle and a right-hand cutting orientation. The PVD coating process delivers a wear-resistant surface layer suited for high-heat cutting environments. At 0.2200 inches thick and 0.4020 inches wide with a 1/16-inch corner radius, this insert fits precisely into compatible toolholders. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, aerospace facilities, and production environments are the primary installers and users of this insert.
This insert is engineered primarily for cutting stainless steel and superalloys, material groups M and S in ISO classification. The E chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip formation during interrupted and continuous cuts. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.5510 inches (14.00 mm) and a cutting edge effective length of 0.6890 inches, the 144W467 handles medium to semi-finishing passes on difficult-to-machine materials. It is compatible with the WEX3000 cutter series and carries an insert size code of 1235 with an inscribed circle of 0.4000 inches. This insert is sold individually and must be ordered in multiples of 10.
Designed for use with the WEX3000 cutter series. Insert size code 1235 with an inscribed circle range of 0.4000 to 0.5000 inches and a thickness range of 0.2200 to 0.2350 inches.
This insert is installed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and clamping screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer - do not overtighten or substitute fasteners. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or wear before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
