The STREAMLIGHT 68730 is an intrinsically safe, rechargeable LED handheld flashlight built for use in hazardous locations where ignition risk must be eliminated. Rated Class 1, Division 1, it delivers up to 275 lumens in combined spot and flood mode across three selectable light modes. The polymer resin body keeps weight low at 0.6 pounds, and the integrated lithium-ion battery provides a maximum run time of 13.5 hours (810 minutes). Dual switch control lets the user toggle between flood, spot, and combined spot/flood outputs without tools. Licensed electricians, industrial maintenance techs, and oil and gas service personnel are the primary installers and users of this unit.
The 68730 is suited for classified hazardous environments including petrochemical facilities, refineries, wastewater treatment plants, and any Class 1, Division 1 location where combustible gases or vapors may be present. The three light modes allow the tech to match output to the task, reducing battery drain during extended inspections. The integrated belt clip keeps the light accessible during hands-on service work. Yellow body color improves visibility when the light is set down in a work area.
Designed as a self-contained handheld flashlight for Class 1, Division 1 hazardous location applications. No external power source or separate battery pack is required.
This flashlight requires no hardwired installation. Prior to entering a classified hazardous area, verify the unit is fully charged and that the housing shows no cracks or damage that could compromise intrinsic safety ratings. Recharge only with the manufacturer-approved charging method. Do not attempt to replace the internal battery with a non-approved cell, as doing so may void the intrinsic safety classification.
