The STERLING 80001024-v is a 24-inch narrow straight grab bar designed for bath and shower applications where front-access installation is required. Constructed from anodized aluminum with a matte silver finish, this bar features an elliptical cross-section that provides a more secure, ergonomic grip than standard round profiles. At 1.5 inches in diameter and projecting 2.875 inches from the wall at the flange, it fits comfortably within tighter clearances while meeting the dimensional requirements of a functional safety grab bar. Installation hardware is included. The matte silver finish is engineered to coordinate with Sterling matte silver and nickel shower door hardware finishes.
This grab bar is suited for residential and commercial bath and shower enclosures where a front-mount installation approach is preferred. The exposed flange mounting system allows the bar to be secured from the front of the bathing or showering unit, simplifying installation in situations where rear-access to the wall cavity is limited. The anodized aluminum construction resists corrosion in consistently wet environments. Applicable standards include ASME A112.18.1/CSA B125.1 and ASTM F446, making it appropriate for projects requiring code-compliant grab bar specifications.
Designed for use in bath and shower applications; finish matches Sterling matte silver and nickel shower door finishes. Verify wall substrate blocking or backing meets local building code load requirements before installation.
Grab bar installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or general contractor and must comply with applicable local building codes. Before installation, shut off water supply if working near plumbing penetrations and confirm that solid blocking or reinforced backing exists in the wall at the mounting location to support load requirements. Use the included hardware and follow the manufacturer installation instructions for proper flange fastening. Do not mount to drywall or backer board alone without appropriate structural support behind the wall surface.
