The STERLING 55wj-1-7a is a 7-foot hydronic baseboard enclosure designed for the Kompak low-profile residential heating series. This is the enclosure only — no heating element is included. The unit houses a hydronic fin-tube element and delivers heated air through convection along the baseboard zone. Its low-height profile makes it a practical choice where wall space is limited, such as under windows or along short knee walls. The enclosure is finished in classic white paint and features smooth, radius-formed end covers that follow the unit's continuous lines. Licensed HVAC and plumbing professionals typically install these as part of a hot-water heating system.
The Kompak series is engineered for residential hydronic heating applications. This enclosure is suited for single-family homes, condominiums, and similar light-duty installations where a slim baseboard profile is preferred. The 7-foot length is one of several standard sizes in the Kompak lineup, which also includes 2-foot, 3-foot, 4-foot, 5-foot, 6-foot, and 8-foot sections, allowing installers to configure zones without field cutting. Telescoping fill-in sections are available separately in 14-foot lengths to close gaps without cutting waste.
Designed as an OEM-style enclosure for Sterling Kompak series hydronic baseboard heating systems. Compatible with the standard Kompak fin-tube heating element and accessories within the same product family.
Installation of hydronic baseboard enclosures should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician familiar with hot-water heating systems. Before beginning work, shut off and drain the relevant zone of the hydronic loop and allow components to cool completely. The snap-in bracket design does not require sheet metal screws, but ensure all brackets are fully seated before securing the enclosure. Follow local mechanical codes and the IFGC or IPC as applicable for the overall system.
