The STEINER 374-6X8 is an acrylic coated fiberglass welding blanket designed to protect personnel, equipment, and surrounding work areas from weld spatter, sparks, and radiant heat. Measuring 96 inches high by 72 inches wide with a thickness of 0.051 inches, this blanket provides a large coverage area suited to heavy fabrication and maintenance welding environments. The acrylic coating adds surface durability while maintaining the flexibility of the fiberglass base. Rated for continuous exposure up to 400 degrees F, it handles the thermal demands of MIG, TIG, stick, and oxy-fuel operations. Installed by welders, pipefitters, ironworkers, and maintenance trades, this blanket is a standard protective measure wherever hot work permits are required.
The 374-6X8 is well suited for industrial facilities, shipyards, structural steel shops, and field maintenance sites where adjacent equipment, piping, or surfaces must be shielded during hot work. Its large format makes it practical for draping over machinery, hanging as a spark curtain, or laying flat as a floor protector beneath a weld zone. The grommet reinforcement along the edges allows secure hanging or tie-off without risk of tearing at the attachment points. It is equally applicable in commercial construction settings where fire watch and area protection are required by OSHA hot work procedures.
Designed as a general-purpose welding blanket for hot work protection in industrial, commercial, and field maintenance applications wherever spark, spatter, and radiant heat shielding is required.
Welders, pipefitters, and maintenance trades typically deploy this blanket as part of a hot work permit program. Ensure all grommets are secured to rated anchor points before suspending the blanket as a curtain. Inspect the blanket for cuts, fraying, or coating degradation before each use, and remove it from service if structural integrity is compromised. Do not use this blanket as a fire suppression device or in direct contact with open flame or molten metal.
