The STEINER 12109 is a leather welding helmet bib designed to seal the gap between a welding helmet and the welder's neck and shoulders. This bib attaches using a hook and loop fastener system, making it compatible with a wide range of welding helmets without the need for tools. Constructed from leather, it provides a durable barrier against spatter, sparks, and radiant heat that can reach exposed skin below the helmet shell. Welders, fabricators, and pipefitters working in overhead or confined-space applications will find this bib particularly useful where stray spatter is a consistent hazard.
This bib is suited for use in both shop and field welding environments including structural steel, pipe welding, manufacturing, and maintenance and repair operations. It installs directly onto the helmet skirt area and is intended as either an original-fit accessory or a replacement for a worn bib. The hook and loop attachment system allows quick removal between jobs or for cleaning. The 8.5 inch by 8.5 inch footprint provides coverage across the lower face and upper chest area beneath the helmet.
Designed as a universal-fit welding helmet bib compatible with all welding helmets that feature a hook and loop attachment area along the lower helmet skirt.
Installation requires no tools. Align the hook and loop strips on the bib with the corresponding fastener surface on the underside of the helmet skirt and press firmly to seat. Inspect the hook and loop surfaces periodically for spatter buildup that may reduce holding strength. Remove and clean the bib regularly to maintain flexibility and protective integrity of the leather.
