Designed as an OEM-style magnetic base indicator holder compatible with standard dial indicator stems and universal indicator holding rods. Includes STARRETT component parts 657W, PT17850, 657P, and 657S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by machinists or metrology technicians and requires no special tools beyond positioning the magnetic base on a clean, flat ferrous surface. Ensure the mounting surface is free of chips, coolant, and debris before activating the magnet to achieve full rated pull force. Do not use on non-ferrous surfaces, as the magnetic base will not hold. Articulated arm joints should be snugged finger-tight before fine-adjusting and then locked securely before taking measurements.
