The STANLEY 20-001K is a high tension, low profile hacksaw designed for cutting pipe, conduit, metal strapping, and threaded rod in tight or confined work spaces. The high-tension frame design keeps the blade under increased tension, which reduces blade flex and produces straighter, cleaner cuts. The low profile bow clears obstructions that a standard-height hacksaw frame cannot. At 1.1 pounds, it is light enough for extended one-handed use on overhead or below-grade work. Plumbers, electricians, HVAC technicians, and general tradespeople reach for this saw when a reciprocating saw or angle grinder is impractical for the task.
The 20-001K is suited for residential and light commercial trade work. It accepts standard 12-inch hacksaw blades, making it compatible with the wide variety of bi-metal and carbide-grit blades already stocked on most service vehicles. Typical use cases include cutting copper and galvanized pipe, EMT conduit, ABS and PVC fittings, and all-thread rod during rough-in and service work.
Designed to accept standard 12-inch hacksaw blades common to residential and commercial trade applications.
No power source is required. Ensure the blade is properly seated and tensioned before beginning any cut. When cutting pipe or conduit, secure the workpiece in a vise or with a pipe clamp to prevent movement. Replace blades when teeth show visible wear or when cut quality degrades.
