The STANDARD ABRASIVES 7000046835 is a 3-inch non-woven quick-change abrasive disc designed for surface conditioning, blending, and light deburring tasks. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive material in a medium grade, this disc delivers consistent cut and finish across metal and composite surfaces. It operates at a maximum speed of 8,000 RPM and attaches via a Type R (TR Type III) Lockit button system for fast, tool-free disc changes. The maroon non-woven construction conforms to surface contours, making it well suited for finishing work where consistent scratch patterns and minimal material removal are required. Licensed tradespeople and fabricators handling surface prep and finishing operations will find this disc straightforward to integrate into existing quick-change tool setups.
This disc is used in metal fabrication, maintenance and repair, and light industrial surface conditioning applications. The non-woven aluminum oxide construction is appropriate for blending weld seams, removing light oxidation, and preparing surfaces for coating or inspection. It fits grinders and die grinders equipped with Type R quick-change mandrels. The GP Series designation indicates a general-purpose formulation suitable for a broad range of ferrous and non-ferrous substrates in both shop and field environments.
Compatible with Type R quick-change mandrels and holders. Designed for use with die grinders and right-angle grinders equipped with a TR (Type III) Lockit attachment system.
Installation is performed by pressing the disc button firmly onto a Type R quick-change mandrel until it seats and locks. Always confirm the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 8,000 RPM disc rating before operation. Disconnect the grinder from its power source or air supply before changing discs. Inspect the disc for tears or damage before each use and discard any disc showing signs of deterioration.
