The SQUARE D VCF4 is a fused, enclosed cam disconnect switch rated for 690VAC service. It features a 3-pole, 3NO contact configuration with 3-wire capacity, designed for use in industrial electrical distribution and motor control applications. The switch ships with an integrated handle and carries an IP20 and IP65 ingress protection rating, making it suitable for both standard and wash-down-rated enclosure installations. It is installed by licensed electricians and electrical contractors working on commercial or industrial power systems. At 0.7 pounds, the compact form factor fits into tight panel arrangements while still meeting multiple certification standards.
The VCF4 is suited for use in enclosed control panels, machine tool disconnects, and industrial equipment isolation applications where a fused cam-style disconnect is required. The dual ingress protection ratings give installers flexibility when selecting the appropriate installation environment. NEMA ratings of 1 and 12 cover both general indoor use and applications requiring protection against dust and dripping non-corrosive liquids. This switch is appropriate for commercial and industrial installations where IEC and UL-rated components are specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install fused cam disconnect switch for enclosed industrial and commercial electrical control panels requiring a 3-pole, 690VAC-rated disconnect.
Installation must be performed by a qualified licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit at the upstream overcurrent device before beginning installation, following LOTO procedures. Verify that the supply voltage and ampacity are within the rated parameters of the switch before energizing. Do not install in locations with ambient conditions exceeding the enclosure ingress protection rating.
