The Square D QO120GFICP is a 20-amp single-pole ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) breaker rated at 120 volts, designed for installation in Square D QO load centers. It provides both overcurrent protection and ground fault protection in a single unit, eliminating the need for a separate GFCI outlet at the point of use. This breaker monitors current imbalance between hot and neutral conductors and trips within milliseconds when a ground fault is detected. It is installed by licensed electricians working on residential and light commercial branch circuits where GFCI protection is required by the NEC.
This breaker is suited for 120-volt branch circuits in bathrooms, kitchens, garages, outdoor receptacles, crawl spaces, unfinished basements, and other locations specified in the National Electrical Code as requiring GFCI protection. The carded packaging makes it a standard stocking item for electrical contractors and service technicians performing panel upgrades or new construction work. The package includes 3 units per order.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation GFCI breaker for Square D QO-series load centers and compatible panelboards accepting QO plug-on breakers.
Installation must be performed by a qualified, licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. Always shut off the main breaker and verify the panel is de-energized before handling any breakers or bus connections. The GFCI breaker requires a connection to the neutral bar via the included pigtail wire — failure to connect the neutral pigtail will prevent proper GFCI function. Do not install in panels that do not accept QO-series plug-on breakers.
