The SQUARE D L100WS2M1 is a general purpose limit switch designed for industrial and commercial machine control applications. It features a DPDT (double-pole, double-throw) contact form with a normally closed (NC) configuration and a rotary spring return actuator mounted on the side of the housing. Rated for up to 600 volts, it connects via a 1/2-inch NPT conduit entry and uses screw-type terminals. The aluminum body carries an IP67 ingress protection rating, making it suitable for environments where dust and water exposure are a concern. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians are the typical installers.
This limit switch is suited for use in industrial machinery, conveyor systems, automated equipment, and process control panels where precise position sensing and durable switching are required. The rotary spring return actuator travels 17 degrees and returns automatically when the actuating force is removed, making it appropriate for repetitive cycling applications in both light and heavy industrial settings. The NEMA ratings of 1, 2, 4, 12, and 13 make it compatible with a wide range of enclosure environments from indoor general purpose to oil-tight installations.
Designed as an OEM-style general purpose limit switch for industrial machine control, automation, and process equipment requiring DPDT NC rotary spring return switching at up to 600 volts.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lockout/tagout all affected circuits before mounting or wiring the switch. Conduit connections should be sealed appropriately to maintain the IP67 ingress protection rating. Verify actuator alignment and travel clearance before returning equipment to service.
