The SQUARE D BY SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC HOM120CAFIC is a 20-amp, single-pole combination arc fault circuit interrupter (AFCI) breaker designed for residential electrical panel installations. It provides standard overload and short-circuit protection alongside series and parallel arc fault detection. Rated at 120/240 volts AC with a 10,000-ampere interrupting rating (A.I.R.), this breaker is built in the 1-inch format and fits Homeline brand load centers. Licensed electricians install this device to meet modern code requirements in branch circuit applications where AFCI protection is mandated.
This breaker is engineered for use in residential branch circuits where the 2008 National Electrical Code (NEC) and subsequent editions require combination-type AFCI protection. Typical applications include bedroom circuits, living areas, and other habitable spaces where arc fault hazards are a code concern. It is sold in a package quantity of 3 units, making it practical for multi-circuit installations or service upgrades. The 1-inch single-pole format keeps panel space usage efficient in standard Homeline load centers.
Designed for use in Homeline brand load centers. Verify load center compatibility with the panel label or manufacturer documentation before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and all applicable local codes. Always shut off the main breaker and verify the panel is de-energized before working inside a load center. Do not install this breaker in a load center that does not accept the Homeline 1-inch format. Torque all wire terminations to the value stamped on the breaker label or listed in the manufacturer installation sheet.
