The SQUARE D EDPAF is a padlock attachment accessory designed to secure compatible circuit breakers in the off position, preventing accidental or unauthorized re-energization during maintenance and service work. This lockout device mounts directly to the breaker handle and accepts a standard padlock, enabling compliance with lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures required under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147. The EDPAF ships as a single unit and is a straightforward, low-profile accessory used by licensed electricians and maintenance technicians across commercial and industrial electrical installations.
The EDPAF padlock attachment is intended for use with ED Type, EG Type, and EJ Type Square D circuit breakers. It is typically installed in commercial panelboards and distribution equipment where LOTO compliance is required before servicing downstream circuits or connected equipment. This accessory is well suited for facilities maintenance teams, electrical contractors, and industrial maintenance electricians working to established safety protocols.
Designed for use with Square D ED Type, EG Type, and EJ Type circuit breakers.
Installation of this padlock attachment should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the NEC and applicable facility safety procedures. Always de-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage before accessing the breaker or installing any lockout device. Once attached, insert an appropriate padlock through the locking aperture to secure the breaker in the off position. Remove the padlock attachment only after all personnel are clear and energy isolation is no longer required.
