The SQUARE D CH260 is a 2-pole, 60-amp plug-on circuit breaker designed for residential and light commercial load centers. It operates at 120/240 volts AC and carries a 10-kiloamp interrupting rating, making it suitable for branch circuit overcurrent protection in standard panelboard installations. The common-trip design ensures both poles open simultaneously under a fault condition. Licensed electricians install this breaker as part of new construction wiring or panel upgrades. It accepts copper or aluminum conductors ranging from 14 to 2 AWG, covering most residential feeder and branch circuit applications.
The CH260 is built for use in CH Series load centers. It fits plug-on breaker slots and handles typical 240-volt branch circuits such as dryer outlets, water heaters, HVAC disconnect feeds, and sub-panel feeder applications. Its compact footprint at 3 inches long, 1.5 inches wide, and 3.5 inches tall keeps it compatible with standard residential panel configurations. This breaker is a direct plug-on replacement for existing CH Series panel slots and suits both new installation and service replacement work performed by licensed electricians following NEC guidelines.
Designed for use with CH Series load centers. Verify the existing panel is a CH Series unit before installation. Do not install in incompatible panelboard enclosures.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the panel at the utility main or service disconnect before handling any breaker or panel wiring. Confirm wire gauge and conductor material match the breaker terminals before torquing connections. Do not use this breaker as a substitute for a main disconnect unless the enclosure and application are rated accordingly.
