The Square D CC59.4 Thermal Unit is designed to protect motors, controllers, and branch circuit conductors from excessive heating caused by prolonged motor over-currents, including locked rotor currents. These thermal units work alongside branch circuit fuses or circuit breakers to protect against short circuits and grounds. They are designed to trip within 20 seconds or less when overload conditions occur.
