The SQUARE D 8903LXG1000V02 is a mechanically held lighting contactor rated for 10 poles and designed for controlling large lighting loads in commercial and industrial electrical systems. It carries a 20-amp rating for tungsten lamp loads and a 30-amp rating for fluorescent loads, making it well-suited for mixed lighting panel applications. The control circuit operates at 110 VAC at 50 Hz or 120 VAC at 60 Hz. The mechanically held design holds the contactor in its last switched position without continuous coil energization, reducing heat generation and energy draw in the control circuit. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this device.
This contactor is intended for use in commercial, institutional, and light industrial lighting control panels where NEMA 1 enclosure ratings are appropriate for indoor, protected environments. It suits applications such as centralized lighting control for office buildings, warehouses, retail spaces, and similar facilities where multiple lighting circuits must be switched from a single control point. The 10-pole, 10NO contact configuration allows simultaneous switching of up to 10 separate lighting branch circuits.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement lighting contactor for indoor commercial lighting control panels requiring a NEMA 1 rated, 10-pole mechanically held contactor with 120 VAC control voltage.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the panel before installation; verify that all upstream breakers are open and voltage absence is confirmed with a meter before handling terminals. Do not apply control voltage until all load and control wiring connections are complete and verified. Mechanical holding requires correct wiring of both the latch and unlatch coil circuits to operate reliably.
