The Square D 8536SAG12V02S is a Type-S non-reversing motor starter designed for starting and stopping AC squirrel cage motors. This motor starter supports full voltage with a current rating of nine amperes. The NEMA Size 00 starter is suitable for three-phase applications with ratings of 1.5 HP at two hundred twenty and two hundred thirty volts AC, and two HP at four hundred sixty and five hundred seventy-five volts AC.

This starter includes a melting alloy overload relay that utilizes Type B thermal units for sensing overcurrent conditions. It can achieve a maximum Short Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) of five kiloamperes when properly protected by a circuit breaker or fuse.
