The SPORLAN pa-3060-10-4 is a U-Tube suction line accumulator designed to protect refrigeration compressors from liquid slugging. It catches liquid refrigerant and oil that would otherwise enter the compressor suction port, then meters those fluids back into the suction stream at a safe rate. The shell is steel with a powder-coated finish, measures 3 inches outer diameter by 10.35 inches in length, and carries a 35-ounce capacity. Connections are 1/2 inch ODF on both inlet and outlet, with solid copper fittings. An integral 430-degree fuse plug is included as a pressure-relief safety device. Rated to 300 psi, it handles R22, R134A, R407C, R410A, and R507 refrigerants across an evaporative temperature range of -20 to 40 degrees F.
This accumulator is suited for a wide range of refrigeration and HVAC applications including residential systems, commercial units, industrial refrigeration, rack systems, chillers, freezers, walk-in units, and truck, trailer, bus, rail, van, and reefer transportation refrigeration. It is also rated for use on heat pump systems where liquid refrigerant carryover during defrost cycles is a known risk. Licensed refrigeration technicians and HVAC mechanics are the typical installers across these application segments.
Rated for use on refrigeration systems and heat pumps operating with R22, R134A, R407C, R410A, or R507 refrigerant. Applicable across residential, commercial, industrial, rack, chiller, freezer, walk-in, and transportation refrigeration applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed refrigeration or HVAC technician holding appropriate EPA Section 608 certification. Recover all refrigerant and depressurize the system before cutting into the suction line. The accumulator is typically brazed into the suction line using standard refrigeration brazing practice with nitrogen purge to prevent internal oxidation. Ensure the unit is oriented and supported per the manufacturer orientation requirement before pressure-testing and recharging the system.
