The SPORLAN 700455 is a See-All moisture and liquid indicator designed for use in refrigerant lines to give HVAC-R technicians a clear, real-time view of refrigerant flow and system moisture level. The unit connects via a 5/8-inch swivel nut on one end and an ODF solder connection on the other, making field installation straightforward with standard flare and soldering tools. At 4.33 inches in length, it fits comfortably into tight line sets. The indicator is rated to 650 psi maximum working pressure, making it suitable for use with a wide range of refrigerants in both low- and high-side applications. The color-coded moisture indicator element changes from green to yellow to alert technicians of moisture contamination before it causes damage to compressors or metering devices.
This sight glass is used in residential and light commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems. It is installed in the liquid line, typically downstream of the filter drier, to confirm proper refrigerant charge and monitor system dryness. The 5/8-inch connection size accommodates common liquid line tubing found in mid-capacity split systems and packaged units. Installation is performed by licensed HVAC-R technicians during system commissioning, routine service, or after a drier replacement.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement sight glass for residential and light commercial HVAC-R liquid line installations using 5/8-inch connections and ODF solder fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC-R technician in accordance with applicable local codes and ASHRAE safety guidelines. Recover all system refrigerant and relieve system pressure before cutting into any refrigerant line. Use a nitrogen purge when brazing the ODF solder connection to prevent internal oxidation scale that can contaminate the system. After installation, leak-check all connections and pull a deep vacuum before recharging the system.
