The SPI HARD-106 is a Rockwell A scale hardness calibration test block used to verify and calibrate hardness testing equipment. It covers a hardness range of 80 HRA to 88 HRA, making it suitable for calibrating testers used on hard materials such as cemented carbides and thin hardened steel. The block measures 2.5 inches wide, 1.5 inches long, and 0.5 inches high. Metrology technicians, quality control inspectors, and tool and die professionals rely on this type of reference block to maintain traceability and accuracy in hardness testing programs.
This calibration block is intended for use in industrial metrology environments where Rockwell A scale testing is performed. Typical applications include incoming material inspection, periodic instrument verification, and laboratory quality assurance workflows. The block is supplied as a single piece and is well suited for both shop-floor and laboratory settings where hard material hardness testing is routine.
Designed for use with Rockwell A scale hardness testing equipment requiring a calibration reference block in the 80 to 88 HRA range.
Calibration test blocks should be handled and stored carefully to prevent surface damage, which can compromise accuracy. Clean the test surface before use according to the hardness tester manufacturer guidelines. Blocks should not be used on the same surface area repeatedly without rotating to a fresh area, as indentations can affect subsequent readings. Calibration and instrument verification should be performed by qualified metrology or quality control personnel.
