The SPI CMS160809150 is a mechanical outside micrometer designed for high-precision linear measurement in machining, metrology, and quality-control applications. It measures external dimensions up to 1 inch with a graduation of 0.0001 inches and an accuracy of 0.0001 inches. The ratchet stop thimble delivers consistent measuring pressure across repeated measurements, reducing operator-to-operator variation. A digital counter assists with reading the measurement, reducing misread errors during fast-paced inspection work. Measuring faces are solid carbide for wear resistance and long service life. This tool ships calibrated and includes a Short Form Certificate of Calibration with NIST traceability.
The CMS160809150 is suited for use in machine shops, manufacturing facilities, toolrooms, and inspection departments where tight dimensional tolerances are routine. It is appropriate for measuring shafts, pins, and other turned or ground components in both production and maintenance environments. The included case and calibration certificate make it ready for immediate use on arrival. This micrometer is typically handled by machinists, quality technicians, tool-and-die makers, and precision tradespeople who require documented traceability to national standards.
Designed as a standard outside micrometer for general precision measurement tasks requiring a 0 to 1-inch range. Compatible with any application or bench setup that accepts a conventional mechanical outside micrometer in this range.
No installation is required for this hand measurement tool. Before use, verify the zero setting against the calibration certificate supplied with the unit. Store the micrometer in the included case when not in use to protect the measuring faces and maintain calibration integrity. Do not use the tool to measure rotating workpieces or surfaces that are not clean and free of burrs or chips.
