The SPI CMS160712066 is an electronic bore gage designed for precision internal diameter measurement in machining, engine rebuilding, and dimensional inspection applications. It covers a measuring range of 0.425 to 0.5 inches with a resolution of 0.0001 inches and accuracy up to 0.00016 inches. The gage uses a 3-point solid carbide head for consistent, wear-resistant contact across the bore surface. A built-in indicator with pistol grip handle allows single-handed operation. The unit ships with a CR2032 battery installed and is furnished in a fitted carrying case. Licensed machinists, engine rebuilders, and precision measurement technicians are the primary users of this tool.
This bore gage is suited for both shop floor and inspection bench use in environments where tight bore tolerances must be verified quickly and repeatedly. The 2-inch gage depth allows measurement in relatively shallow bores. The pistol grip and right-and-left-hand viewing display support use in confined workspaces. Automatic shut-off preserves battery life during high-volume inspection workflows. It is appropriate for residential and commercial machine shops, automotive rebuild facilities, and precision manufacturing quality control stations.
Designed as an OEM-style precision measurement tool for bores ranging from 0.425 to 0.5 inches in diameter, suitable for use across machining, automotive, and manufacturing inspection applications.
This gage is handled and calibrated by machinists or metrology technicians familiar with precision measurement practices. Before use, verify the gage is zeroed against a certified ring gage or master setting fixture appropriate to the measurement range. Keep contact surfaces clean and free of chips or coolant before measuring. Do not overtighten or force the 3-point head into a bore smaller than the minimum range specification, as this can damage the carbide contacts.
