The SPI CMS160712054 is an electronic bore gage designed for precise internal diameter measurement in trade and industrial applications. It covers a measuring range of 0.65 to 0.8 inches with a resolution of 0.0001 inches and accuracy up to 0.00016 inches. The gage uses a 3-point solid carbide contact head for consistent, wear-resistant contact across the bore surface. A pistol grip handle enables single-handed operation, and the included indicator provides direct digital readout. It is powered by a CR2032 battery, which is included. Automatic shut-off helps extend battery life during regular shop use.
This bore gage is suited for machine shops, manufacturing facilities, engine rebuild shops, and any trade environment requiring tight-tolerance bore inspection. Typical applications include checking cylinder bores, hydraulic valve bodies, pump housings, and precision-machined bores in the 0.65 to 0.8 inch range. The 2.6-inch gage depth allows measurement of deeper bores without repositioning. Both right-hand and left-hand viewing angles are supported, making it practical for varied workpiece orientations on the bench or in the field.
Designed for use as a precision bore measurement tool in any application requiring internal diameter inspection in the 0.65 to 0.8 inch range, including engine rebuilding, machining, and general precision metrology work.
Bore gages of this type are typically used by machinists, engine builders, and precision measurement technicians rather than installed as a replacement component. Before use, zero the gage against a calibrated ring gage or master setting fixture appropriate for the measurement range. Keep the carbide contact heads free of debris and handle the instrument carefully to avoid dropping, which can affect calibration. Store the gage in its fitted case when not in use to protect the contacts and indicator.
