The SPI CMS160409007 is an electronic height gage designed for precision dimensional measurement in metrology, quality control, and toolroom applications. It measures vertical dimensions up to 24 inches with a resolution of 0.0005 inches and an accuracy of 0.003 inches, making it suitable for exacting inspection work. A large LCD display presents readings in either inch or metric units, and the gage ships with a short-form certificate of calibration confirming it meets stated accuracy requirements. A smooth slider feed wheel provides controlled stylus movement during measurement. Licensed metrologists, QC inspectors, and toolroom machinists are the primary users.
This height gage is used on surface plates in inspection rooms, toolrooms, and manufacturing quality labs. It handles both inch and metric measurement without recalibration, making it practical in shops that work to either standard. This instrument is set up on a flat reference surface plate rather than installed in a mechanical system. Before use, verify the surface plate is clean and level and that the gage base is free of burrs or debris that could affect measurement accuracy. Zero the gage at the reference surface before taking measurements. Handle the scriber and measuring components with care to avoid impact damage that could alter calibration.
