The SPI 91-412-7 is a parallel-leaf feeler gauge used to measure precise clearances and gaps in mechanical assemblies. Each leaf is 0.85 mm (0.033 inches) thick, 0.5 inches wide, and 12 inches long, giving technicians a consistent reference blade for checking valve clearances, spark plug gaps, bearing tolerances, and similar close-tolerance measurements. Constructed from high-carbon steel, the blade resists wear and holds its calibrated thickness through repeated use. This is a single-leaf gauge suited for bench work, field service, or production-floor inspection tasks performed by machinists, mechanics, and HVAC technicians.
The SPI 91-412-7 is commonly used in settings where precise gap verification is required, including HVAC equipment servicing, engine and compressor maintenance, pump assembly, and general mechanical inspection. The 12-inch parallel leaf length provides enough reach to access recessed components, while the 0.5-inch width keeps the blade manageable in tighter spaces. Parallel-leaf geometry ensures uniform thickness along the full length of the blade, making it reliable for any measurement point along its span.
Designed as a general-purpose parallel-leaf feeler gauge for use across mechanical, HVAC, and industrial maintenance applications where a 0.85 mm gap reference is required.
Feeler gauges are a hand-measurement tool and do not require installation. Clean the blade before and after use to prevent contamination of the measured assembly. Do not force the blade into a gap that is tighter than the blade thickness, as this can bend the leaf and compromise calibration. Store the blade flat or in a protective sleeve to prevent warping.
