The SPI 37-189-8 is a double-end plug thread gage designed to verify internal metric threads to M7x1 specifications at 6H tolerance class. One end carries the Go member with a pitch diameter of 6.35 mm; the opposite end carries the No Go member at 6.50 mm pitch diameter. Together they confirm that a tapped hole falls within the accepted tolerance band — the Go end must pass freely, and the No Go end must not enter. A handle is included. This gage is used by machinists, quality control inspectors, and manufacturing technicians performing in-process or final inspection of threaded components.
This gage is suited for inspection of M7x1 tapped holes in production machining, fabrication, and assembly environments. The double-end design keeps both Go and No Go members in a single tool, reducing handling time during inspection routines. It is appropriate for use in job shops, production floors, and quality labs where metric thread verification to ANSI standards with NIST traceability is required.
Designed for inspection of M7x1 internal threads at 6H tolerance class in metric-threaded components and assemblies.
Plug thread gages are handled by quality inspectors and machinists — no installation in the traditional sense applies. Before use, clean the tapped hole and gage members of chips and debris to prevent false readings and gage wear. Apply light gage oil when inspecting ferrous materials to reduce wear on the gage members. Store the gage in its case or on a padded surface away from other tooling to protect ground thread surfaces.
