The SPI 37-158-3 is a single-end No Go plug thread gage used to verify internal thread quality on M14x2 metric threaded features. It checks that a tapped hole has not been cut oversize, ensuring threads fall within the acceptable tolerance range for 6H class fits. Machinists, quality control inspectors, and tool room technicians use this gage during production inspection and incoming parts verification. The gage measures 1.5 inches in length with a 0.55-inch diameter and weighs 0.22 pounds. Traceability documentation conforms to ANSI standards traceable to NIST. Handle is not included and must be sourced separately.
This No Go plug gage is intended for use in metalworking, manufacturing, and precision machining environments where M14x2 metric internal threads must be held to 6H tolerance class. It is suited for inspection stations on the shop floor, incoming quality control, and tool crib applications. The single-end configuration keeps the gage compact for use in confined access areas or high-volume inspection routines where dedicated No Go verification is preferred over a double-end gage.
Designed for inspection of M14x2 metric internal threads to 6H tolerance class. Fits standard plug gage handles sold separately; verify handle chuck size matches gage shank diameter before ordering.
Thread plug gages require no installation but should be handled and stored per ASME B47.1 gage care guidelines to preserve calibration. Do not force the No Go member into a conforming thread — proper No Go practice means the gage should not enter the threaded hole. Clean threads of chips and coolant before gaging. Periodic recalibration against NIST-traceable masters is recommended to maintain inspection integrity.
