The SPI 37-149-2 is a single-end plug thread gage configured as a No Go member, designed to verify that an internal M6x1 thread does not exceed the maximum material condition allowed by the 6H tolerance class. It is used to confirm that a tapped hole has not been cut undersize or otherwise out of tolerance in a way that would cause interference during assembly. The gage measures approximately 1.31 inches in length with a 0.24-inch diameter gage member and weighs 0.044 pounds. A handle is not included and must be sourced separately. Machinists, quality control inspectors, and toolroom technicians use this gage as part of a go/no-go inspection routine on production or maintenance work.
This gage is suited for inspection of M6x1 metric internally threaded features in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical assembly environments. It applies wherever 6H-class thread tolerance verification is required, including precision component production, incoming inspection of fastener bosses, and field verification of tapped holes in equipment repair. The single-end format keeps the gage compact and easy to handle in confined inspection setups. It ships as a single unit per package.
Designed for inspection of M6x1 internally threaded features manufactured to 6H tolerance class per ANSI metric thread standards. Intended for use with a separately purchased handle compatible with single-end plug gage members of this diameter range.
Thread gages are inspection tools, not cutting tools. Install the gage member into a compatible handle before use, following the handle manufacturer's seating instructions. The No Go member should not pass fully through a correctly tapped hole. If the No Go gage passes, the thread is out of tolerance and the part should be rejected or reworked. No power isolation is required for use, but follow your facility's part-handling and FOD (foreign object debris) control procedures during inspection.
